Denim & Diamonds Opens This Weekend

When the nightlife gods taketh away a country bar in Mesa, they ultimately giveth one as well.

Mere weeks after AZ Country USA closed its doors, the good ol' folks behind Graham Central Station are opening a brand new boot-scootin' bunker this Friday on the opposite end of the city. It's called Denim & Diamonds and promises two rooms of drinking and dancing inside an 11,500 square-foot establishment located on Main Street between Power and Sossaman roads.

Graham Brothers Entertainment (the Texas-based company that runs both the annual Country Thunder music festival, as well as GCS and more than a dozen other country nightspots and honky tonks throughout the U.S.) has dropped more than $1 million to transform an aging east Mesa ABCO location into an upscale cowboy club featuring all the trappings.

D&D will feature the usual ginormous dance floor and bar, as well as plenty of hot chickadees in cowboy hats and cutoffs manning beer tubs, and a large stage for gigs by country music recording artists. For instance, burgeoning acts Rio Grand and Brian Milson will perform during the club's grand opening on Friday. (An appearance by KMLE's Jeff West and such drink specials as $2 well drinks, wine, and longnecks are also promised.)

Like AZ Country USA, Denim & Diamonds will have to compete with Mesa's other major-name country joint, Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill. (Ironically enough, Mr. "How Do You Like Me Now?!" is scheduled to be one of the headliners for next year's Country Thunder) Given the fact that D&D is a bit closer to the sticks (read: Apache Junction), we're guessing it might do a bit better business-wise.

East Mesa has for years had a "Real Need" for " Real Entertainment"

Welcome to the East Valley - To All - who like to safely boot scoot and boogie....!Lets keep this a Peaceful Playful Party Place for years to come!Lets be mindful & respectful to the Mesa East Senior Community Owners across the street so they dont have a reason to complain and try to vote the club "GONE"

We are all social butterflies at times, or dragons, happy or sad, mean or loving...but at DD we are always Hap HapPYlets make this a theme to be remembered by the community

Have fun all and a Huge Welcome to the Denium and Diamond owners and staff....
