Club Trinity Debuts in Scottsdale

Say adios to Club Rain, as the lascivious Latin dance den located in south Scottsdale has been replaced with an entirely new joint.

Club Trinity now occupies the Papago Plaza space that formerly housed Rain and will focus more on dishing out hip-hop and Top 40 tracks instead of cumbias and reggaeton.

The cats from VIP Enterprises have been running a relatively well-attended Saturday night shindig at the club since the change occurred late last month, and have booked Young Money for an appearance this weekend.

This isn't the first time the property (which is situated at McDowell and Scottsdale roads) has functioned as a hip-hop haven, as the location served as a rather infamous nightspot called CBNC back before it became Club Rain in 2007.

CBNC was an a major hot spot that accrued a serious reputation as a place to spot such celebs as 50 Cent, Busta Rhymes, Beyoncé, and Britney Spears, as well as local sports icons like former Phoenix Suns star Amare Stoudemire.

The club also earned a degree of infamy in 2005 when former Sun Devil footballer Loren Wade gunned down an ASU teammate in the Papago Plaza parking lot in proximity to the joint, and earlier this year when Scottsdale cops revealed that CBNC was linked to a massive crime ring involving its one-time owners.

All of that is safely in the past however, and there's nary any wrong-doing to be had at the spots new identity. Just hip-hop beats and plenty of weekend dancing. Trinity features three different rooms and environments, each with its own separate bar and design, and will start launching dance nights and other events in the upcoming weeks.

There's been no word on whether or not Busta and Fiddy will be visiting anytime soon, however.
