Roger Waters Denies Part of His Show is Anti-Semitic

The Anti-Defamation League is speculating that part of Roger Waters' show The Wall is anti-Semitic, according to Spinner. The ADL is concerned with the production aspect of his live performances of "Goodbye Sky Blue" because images of Stars of David and dollar signs were used in the same series of symbolic graphics. This could be perceived as negative stereotyping of Jews, the ADL said.

While the ADL is just doing its job, the organization is simply being too sensitive. The images used for the performance of the song also included, in no particular order, a Shell Oil sign, a Mercedes sign, a crucifix, a crescent and a star, and a hammer and a sickle. Waters says that no subliminal messages in regards to the symbols were intended.

Can artists not openly express their views about religion anymore without someone getting offended? Rogers didn't mean to imply anything negative about the Jewish community, so everyone just pipe down.
