In honor of their headlining gig at Tempe's Marquee Theatre this Saturday, August 7, Phoenix metal band (Sic)Monic is throwing a party tonight, and you and whoever else happens to be shopping at Paradise Valley Mall is invited.

The band plays a rare acoustic set at Hot Topic and hosts a listening party for some of their past material. The guys are also gearing up to record a new album, which they hope to release next spring, and aspiring songwriters get a rare opportunity to have their lyrics published, as the band is holding a lyrics contest for the upcoming disc. Plus, artistic types are invited to craft potential artwork for the album, to be titled Darcauditure, both of which may be submitted to the band tonight.

There will also be (Sic)Monic attire on-sale, so you can purchase one of their shirts, along with clothing for every other emo band on the planet, at the store. They'll also have tickets for the Saturday show, which also includes performances by bands The Asylum, Her Fatal Flaw, Bloomfield and more, for only $10 (they're $12 at the door.)

The all-ages, free event goes from 6-8 p.m., and www.myspace.com/sicmonic has tracks you can preview.
