Wyclef Jean to Run for President of Haiti?

Could you be looking at the next president of Haiti?
When Arnold Schwarzenegger became the governator in California, and Jesse Ventura was elected to the same post in Minnesota, it became publicly apparent that the lines would be forever blurred between entertainers and should-be serious politicians. No longer is a famous person tied to their single field for their lifetime. Now, no one even bats an eye if an actor, entertainer, athlete, or musician, decides to run for political office. Wyclef Jean may have just pushed the envelope a little bit farther though.

According to NME, there are well-founded rumors afloat that the former Fugee may be running for president of his home country, Haiti.

Though the singer and current Haitian ambassador was accused of some pretty serious wrongdoing in regards to funds from his own nonprofit, Yele Haiti, his family released a statement to Sky News regarding his intentions towards running for political office. They stated, "Wyclef's commitment to his homeland and its youth is boundless...and he will remain its greatest supporter regardless of whether he is part of the government moving forward. If and when a decision is made, media will be alerted immediately."

Can you imagine the concert that would accompany the inauguration? And we thought Barack Obama's was kick ass...
