• <p>concerts and entertainment and sporting events are usually local people spending money. if it's not an event like the superbowl or the mlb all-star game (which they already said isn't moving) people aren't travelling to arizona to see it. so how is this boycott going to do the economic damage they are looking for? why not skip the date and instead of playing organize a protest at the capital building? i think they just schedule a date somewhere else instead.<br /> or stop sales tax going to the state of az by not allowing your CDs to be sold at stores in arizona.<br /> the boycott seems like nothing more than lip service if they aren't actually sacrificing anything.</p>

• <p>A musical boycott of NaziBama is as detrimental to us as the 15 or so states plus 2 countries rejecting us NaziBamans. We need artists who can help us repeal this atrocious piece of Pearce legislation. I have a feeling once the perpwalks of Joe Arpaio and Co are complete, and Ive been hearing the indictments are coming soon, Pearce will be marching to a different beat.</p>

• <p>I am officially boycotting any artists that boycott Arizona because of this law. No downloads of theirs will be bought by me, or albums, or concert tickets. I hope everyone else who cares about the future of this country will have the balls that Arizona has and stand up to these jerks by not buying their music or merchandise </p>

• <p>Conor actually admitted to everything I thought was misguided and undercooked about the boycott. I still don't agree with it, but he made the larger motive of the boycott clear in that part about getting other entertainment/sports entities to join the effort and actually make a substantial economic hit.</p> <p>However, if their effort doesn't manage to snowball, it'll end up being the empty gesture I feared it always was.</p>

Nothing in his letter, if you read the whole thing, indicates that he might be second-guessing his decision, or that he's doing it because he feels like he can't back out because of his "credibility".</p> <p>Or, you know, it might not be all about his ego and rather something that he actually believes in and feels is a necessary action despite the fact that it has unintended consequences. </p> <p>Your assumption about his motives reduces him to a completely selfishly-driven person, which I would think wouldn't make his letter "reasonable" as you state in the title of your post.</p>

• <p>I respect their decision to boycott Arizona. We always have bands that are willing to play here and awesome local bands.</p>
