Darn those gypsy women, with their ability to create fire within men's chests and their voodoo ways. See the evil in action as Phoenix pop rock band Anarbor shows off their latest video for their single, "Gypsy Woman," on mtvU today.

The song, off their current album, The Words You Don't Swallow, has singer Slade Echeverria singing about a woman who's done the guy wrong. Jesse Ewles directed the video, which he can add to his current body of work that already includes clips for Grizzly Bear and Of Montreal.

The video is part live performance, part eerie imagery, including skulls, voodoo dolls and skeletons against a candlelit background. Ian Harrison, a representative for the band's label, Hopeless Records, says, "They really just wanted to do something that tied into the album art vibe and stay away from the neon and glossy videos that most other scene bands are doing."

mtvU seems like a perfect home for the clip, considering the Anarbor guys are all college age themselves. And you can tell the band what you think of the video, below, when they come to Clubhouse Music Venue Saturday, August 28 after their stint on this summer's Vans Warped Tour.
