Album Stream: M.I.A. - /\/\ /\ Y /\

• <p>MIA is a musician that's been around for about five years. Lynn is a well-known journalist who's been writing about the industry for many years. She should know better. The album could be utter poop, but that does not excuse her diabolics and lack of ethics. What MIA did was immature but reactionary, what Lynn did was a pre-planned smear campaign. </p>

• <p>If you believe in your head that tweeting someone's phone number like that is fair and mature retaliation, then that sucks. What Hirschberg did was wrong and what Maya did was also wrong. </p> <p>Listening to this jumbled mess of an album, though, sure as hell doesn't excuse Maya from her actions. In fact, it makes them even more immature because it seems like she was trying to cover up a product that she already knew was below her own self-imposed musical standards.</p>

• <p>Wow, michael lopez i suggest you research your information a little further. This Lynn person had in her/his head before the interview to basically portray Maya as an uneducated singer who just causes controversy to stay relevant in mainstream society today. When i read the interview, I have to say i was very suprised with what i read. But the next day, Maya lashed back at The NY Times, and rightfully so. One, they completely lied about her ordering the funnel fries, which Lynn ordered. The sequence of quotes were jumbled and put out of context to make Maya sound like a complete idiot. Maya did the right thing and recorded the interview which she put on her recording lable blog N.E.E.T. The truth lies there. Lynn knew he/she was wrong. Don't get me wrong, i question some of the things Maya says, but I am not going to hate on Maya cause she explicitly sings about real world problems (via getting her visa denied-paper planes, a 17 year old suicide bomber-lovealot, life in sri lanka and india-sunshowers). This is the first time i have viewed this website, so i strongly ask you do further research before you publish an article so first time viewers like me keep coming back. </p>

• <p>I have mixed feelings about this album, it's easily MIA's weakest effort to date, but that has nothing to do with what went down with the Times. </p> <p>It's clear that Lynn Hirschberg had an agenda before she even met MIA. It was her attacks that were vicious and immature. </p> <p>The article was filled with cheapshots and exaggerations and spoke nothing about MIA's music or her background. It was just one phony trying to call-out another (apparent) phony. </p>
