Is The Wiley One's "Never Bored on a Board" Crass Marketing or Just a Cool Video?

I will say this much: In the 10 years or so I've known the band members, I don't think I've ever seen them more upbeat, excited, and focused while writing a song. "Never Bored on a Board" was a long time coming - and, in my opinion - inevitable.</p>

• <p>I did not like it at all, but I think it's a good version of what it is, Jack Johnson style fedora rock...</p>

• <p>It's a fair point that they actually *were* on the X Games... I did not know that. I was just giving my impressions of it, which were not informed by that.</p>

• <p>Brian's hit the nail on the head here.</p> <p>When the organizers for ESPN and the X-Games invite you to release your first ever video at the X-Games - in 2008, that is - it seems a little silly that you'd need a "crass marketing" ploy to have your music heard in 2010. Don't you think, Martin?</p>

• <p>I am the blogger that put this up for download and I can tell you that The Wiley One has played at X Games for the last 3 years running, so the thought that this song is a ploy to get a gig they have had for years is a little short sighted. Sam Wiley could have been a pro boarder if he chose that route, but he chose to pick up a guitar instead.</p>

• <p>as a fan of The Wiley One I know that these guys have grown up Skateboarding and Snowboarding. I beleive that this is just a song about their love for the boarding sports and not just a media ploy. I love this song and think it represents the boarding community in a great and positive way</p>
