For those who are still complaining about the lack of local music heard on the airwaves today, they obviously haven't checked out KWSS 106.7 FM, a station dedicated to all local and indie music--which is really cool because you're just as likely to hear bands such as Coheed and Cambria as you are Valley favorites like Phunk Junkeez.

Another local band that's feeling love from the station is The Wiley One, who, contrary to the name, is actually a full group fronted by singer/guitarist Sam Wiley, who goes by the moniker No. 7 Kid. He'll be on the air today, Thursday, May 13 at 9 a.m., talking about the band's new album, Kill It with Love, and upcoming show at Tempe's Marquee Theatre this Saturday, May 15 with The Dirty Heads.

The band's got quite the busy weekend ahead of them--at 1 p.m. on Saturday, the band heads to Devil's Advocate in Tempe to promote the show, and The Dirty Heads will also be in attendance. The first 100 people to show up score copies of the album. And in addition to all this, the group is also gearing up for a mini-tour in California this July.

The all-ages show on Saturday starts at 6 p.m., and tickets are $15 in advance and $17 at the door. For more info, see www.luckymanonline.com. And check out this video of Wiley jamming with Tom Green at KWSS in March.
