It's interesting timing, as Jay Farrar, (Sun Volt, formerly Uncle Tupelo,) and Benjamin Gibbard, (Death Cab for Cutie, The Postal Service,) recently teamed up to write the music for One Fast Move or I'm Gone: Kerouac's Big Sur, a documentary about the great beat poet. In their case, the lyrics to the music were taken directly from Kerouac's Big Sur. The first one was great. With the pressure of creating something worthy of Salinger, and the Farrar/Gibbard project not that long ago, Malin has some pretty big shoes to fill.
