Iggy and The Stooges Shake Up the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

Billie Joe Armstrong savors the moment with Iggy Pop.
Rolling Stone gives everyone the highlights of last night's Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony. You know -- just in case you lost your ticket to the Waldorf and/or cannot afford top-tier cable channels.

While each year is unique, people just can't stop talking about The Stooges' intense performance. Not only did Iggy Pop go offstage (topless!) into the formal ballroom, he also asked the well-to-do crowd to join him on stage. Reportedly, members of Pearl Jam and Green Day stormed the stage in the fashion of giddy children to be a part of the moment.

Iggy also apparently stated, "Roll over, Woodstock. We won," making a triumphant moment even more notable. While The Stooges have been eligible for induction for 16 years (a performer becomes eligible 25 years after the release of his/her/their first record) the committee just now decided that they were worth it. And the band's performance was nothing short of all the decade-and-a-half-long buildup. Congrats.
