Guns N' Roses Tribute Band Hollywood Roses Brings Local Dude Colby Veil Back to Town
Probably not if you, like me, didn't know such a film existed.
Veil fronts Dopesnake, the band that provides the sort of sleazy classic rock riffs that make an ideal match for the images the movie offers up: bad-ass bikes, American flags, drugs.
Unfortunately, the film looks awful. Not in that "good-bad" B-movie way, just flat awful. Seriously, there isn't even a mention of it on Easy Rider's Wikipedia page.
Luckily for Veil, fewer people know him for Dopesnake, than for his work with Hollywood Roses, a tribute to Guns N' Roses. That project has had a lot of positive attention, actually, as even original Guns N' Roses drummer Steven Adler tapped Veil to sing for his band, Steven Adler's Appetite.
Veil brings his "bastard sons of the Sunset Strip" to the Goat's Head Saloon in Mesa on March 27. Hollywood Roses just be your best chance to catch those catchy sleaze rock tunes live, unless of course you feel like venturing to New York to try and catch one of those G N' R secret shows. I'd stick with Hollywood Roses -- I don't think they play any Chinese Democracy.
