Arty Girl: Make Valentine's Day Cards with Cyndi Coon

Uh oh. It's a Valentine's Day blog.

​I'm so relieved to hear that someone else in town doesn't hate Valentine's Day.

And that someone is Cyndi Coon of Laboratory5 Inc. (Lab5 is a joint venture with fellow artist and husband, Jeremy Briddell, where they both showcase their art). Coon will be leading a workshop at MADE Art Boutique this Saturday in which participants will make original Valentine's Day cards.
Like I said, it's nice to know that Valentine's Day is still seen as a cause for celebration. Come February of every year, the griping begins and all I hear are complaints about how the 14th is a bullsh*t holiday.

Ugh. Get over it.

To me, it's the one day out of the year that you're reminded not to take your partner for granted. It's a day in which you're encouraged to focus on the positive aspects of your relationship. And you get to let your partner know there's a reason you chose them in the first place. And can I just stress that it's one freaking day out of your life?

Also, most likely, you will both get laid.

Yeah, sounds like a horrible day to me. Sheesh!

(If you happen to be single, however, feel free to hate on Valentine's Day as much as you need to...I've definitely been there.)

Anyway, if you're wanting to do something super special for your loved one, let Cyndi Coon show you the way. The crafty artist has pumped out some of the most adorable greeting cards in her time (not to mention, she creates incredibly unique housewares) and she's hosting this workshop.

She'll provide a great spread of collage material and will lead writing exercises to encourage folks to fill the card with decorations and inspired words.

And she'll give you chocolate.

Man, Valentine's Day just keeps sounding worse and worse.

Whatever.
