Owl City's Album Art Also Unoriginal

• sounds like the postal service... you say it like it's a bad thing. his music does sound a lot alike the postal service, but it has happier lyrics and a more energetic feel to it. Also, i like his music and i'm athiest, so it's not like relilgion has anything to do with liking music...

• I guess I am commenting on an article that is kinda old. I just wanted to see what the guy looked like, did a Google search, and came up with this. I agree that his music is not incredibly original, but it is fairly pleasant. It is relaxing, upbeat, positive and completely innocent-- as opposed to the stupid shit turned out by artists like Nikki Minaj, 3OH!3, Justin Timberlake, etc., etc... I would much rather have my children listening to something like this-- something that hasn't reduced love and romance to sexual permiscuity and materialism. (For the record, I am not a Christian.)

BUT, that's why we do what we do. We need to make money too ya know! Having someone purchase the right to use an image of ours to "manipulate" and use in any situation is a very big deal to us photographers. I only hope the fellow who took the original image was paid well. I see my images, give them away and use them for various situations all of the time. • <p>Hey, before you judge, you may want to know the two photos are slightly different in the angle of the shot.<br /> I don't think a record company would do anything dumb like 'steal' artwork, ad become liable for a lawsuit, and if you were to actually do some research instead of just assuming, and making yourself a total fool, you may also find out that the artist who took that other picture, took both, and actually sold the rights to Owl city for the picture they used to make their cover art.<br /> Its the people like you that make me shake my head with dissent.</p>

I suppose a lot has happened since and Eubank has been rightfully compensated for his work, as per his comment on his own photo on Flickr -- as you pointed out. It's been nearly 2 months since I made this post, and new developments -- ones that I haven't really followed since I made the original post -- have come into play. I am glad Eubank has gotten his due compensation, but you have to understand that at the time this post was made in early January, he had not been compensated.
