Probably not, but the city certainly has its share of after-dark establishments. Jilly's pulls 'em in by the hundreds with urban nights every weekend, and the Airia Nightclub at the Wild Horse Pass Hotel and Casino has gotten its fair share of buzz since opening in November.
And now I just received word that Phase 54 will be making a return to the Southeast Valley sometime in the next month or two. If you aren't that familiar with the place's previous incarnation (which closed last year), Phase 54 was a combination recording studio and club located in the industrial sprawl of south Tempe and owned by sound enginer Jon Harris.
It was a little hard to locate sometimes, but the two-floor swanketeria was well worth the search, as it offered such bourgie amenities as a marble-encased Jacuzzi and walk-in wine cellar.
Sadly, neither feature will be included in version 2.0 of Phase 54, which is scheduled to open sometime in February or March, according to marketing director Judy Fangon. But what it will have is a prime location on Ray Road just off Interstate 10 (which is just around the corner from Jilly's, for all you club hoppers out there). It will also be a much bigger establishment, to the tune of 21,000 square feet.
Judy Fangon also told me that they're attempting to book plenty of music industry glitterati for upcoming appearances, including names like Beyoncé, Christina Aguilera, Pink, and Rascal Flatts.
