| There...there are simply no words to describe the splendor of Jeff Beck's upcoming album's cover art |
Jeff Beck's Emotion & Commotion isn't due out until April 13, but please don't let that stop you from enjoying what has to be the best -- and when I say "best," I mean worst/corniest -- album art of the year, let alone the decade. The art is painfully American and effectively direct. It's patriotic and hard-rockin' -- just what this country needs from one of rock's celebrated guitar heroes. I thought seeing a bald eagle in the wild while spending the holidays in Hermiston, Oregon, was about the most patriotic thing I could have ever experienced, until Jeff Beck took that and put a fucking guitar in its talons. Amazing. Just utterly amazing. Watch how comedian Patton Oswalt was years ahead of this album cover after the jump.
This bit, "80's Metal," is from Oswalt's album
Feeling Kinda Patton -- which came out in 2004. It just took Jeff Beck 6 years to finally figure it out. It's like Beck had a boring album cover and decided to bust a riff on his guitar and BLAM -- he got a bald eagle with a guitar in its talons. I'm not sure, but I think Jeff Beck might be able to dodge bullets with his rocking.
