Now Open: The White House in Scottsdale

As the above picture illustrates, the exterior of this chic lounge and restaurant is modeled somewhat after the illustrious presidential residence from which it draws its moniker, right down to the portico columns.
Co-owner Rusty Tussing informed me that the similarities between his establishment (which had a soft opening this past weekend) and the real White House end there, so don't expect it to be a politically-oriented kinda place (à la the old Nixon's bar at the Esplanade) with rooms decked out like the Oval Office with servers dressed like Michele Obama.
"We're not going with any theme stuff like that, and just thought it's a recognizable name," Tussing said of he and co-owner Mary Lou Waldburger's plans for the nightspot. Its interior design is "pretty clean and simple," decked out with plenty of white and featuring a "high-end contemporary" feel. There's also a 50-inch HG plasma screen that drops out of the ceiling, which will be put to good use during the White House's Super Bowl Sunday party in February, as well as the preceding NFL playoffs.
Before the big game goes down, Tussing and Waldburger will be holding their grand opening celebration on January 15. DJ Okie Doke will be on the decks for said affairs and will also serve as their resident turntable jock.
