Phoenix Indie Bowl 2009: Have You Signed Up Yet?

Having just e-mailed the PHXmusic.com team's sign up sheet myself, I'm not really in a position to nag here, but I'll tackle the task anyway: Have you signed up for this weekend's indie bowl yet?

The Psyko Steve sponsored venture, a tournament to benefit Local First Arizona, does draw pretty much anyone who's anyone in the local music scene, making it a must-do for many of our readers. It also takes place at Sunset Bowl, the best alley in town, which is a nice perk.

Unlike last year, this year the New Times editorial team plans to be at least a little competitive -- which is why our bowling team is 100% transplanted Midwestereners. I've already requested we be matched up against Electric Mustache in Round 1 and So Much Silence in Round 2, so here's hoping the other music blogs in town do get around to fielding their own squads.

perhaps what you see as "lame, negative comments" are really just the catalyst to pin-pointing where the overall lameness exists within the local scene and doing something to overshadow it completely? just a thought.
So, here's my first comment on here ever...I'm sick and tired of all the negative attitudes associated w/ The New Times. When I was a kid I was told, "If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all." I think as adults some of us should adhere to that sentiment. Not only is Steve a friend of mine, but highly admire all that he does for the local scene & community by thinking outside of the box with these cool events. Yes, you heard right COOL EVENTS. I had so much fun last year, I would not miss this for anything! Plus the fact that proceeds go to benefit Local First is like a cherry on top. How about instead criticizing something you obviously know nothing about, you get off your ass and let your actions speak for yourself? Create your own event that you think we can all be "proud of" and until then keep you lame, negative comments to yourself.

Support local first and local arizona events by getting these "indie" turds out of the state.Another generic psyko steve presents followed by fodder press coverage by cizmar what's new? Im very proud to support local charities,shops,resteraunts etc. but this lame shit makes us look like a bunch of skeletons leaning against a cactus watching tumbleweeds roll by.This event was planned at mcdonalds while listening to some cd's you guys bought at walmart.-how local
