Phoenix still can't seem to wrangle a Wilco show (the band played Tucson in June) but we're getting the next best thing at the end of December as singer Jeff Tweedy plays a solo show at the gorgeous Orpheum Theatre on Sunday, December 27.

Tickets for the show will be $30 on go sale Wednesday November 25 at 10 a.m. through the Phoenix Convention Center box office (100 N. 3rd St., 602-262-7272) or Ticketmaster. Check out Stateside Presents for more info.

Stop being so ridiculously jingoistic in your love of Phoenix, Steve, Tweedy plays solo shows randomly throughout the year. It's a great show, sure, but it's not like it's part of some huge honor bestowed upon us.

It's stupid that Phoenix has not had a Wilco show in like 5 years then the band tours constantly, and that Tucson got that show this spring. You will note that Jimmy Buffett never skips us though.
