As Craig Outhier wrote in this week's paper Bob Corritore is a "self-contained synergistic event." So, considering the guy owns a venue, it's notable when he decides to elsewhere to stage something big, as he will with the Housrockin' Blues Bash at Tempe Center For The Arts on Friday September 25.

Corritore, himself a famed harmonica player, brings 80-year-old Texas Bluesman Tomcat Courtney, Dave Riley, Big Pete Pearson, Chris James, Patrick Rynn, and Brian Fahey to the shores of Tempe Town Lake for an all-ages show.

"This is a special part of our series for 2009 at TCA," says organizer Woody Wilson. "Bob's not only an icon in the Valley's music scene, but he's known throughout the world as one of the top harmonica players and foremost experts on the blues. We wanted to help celebrate his longevity in years, along with his continuing contribution to the blues, by giving our East Valley audience a chance to see and hear the blues done Bob's way."

The show starts at 8 p.m. and the room only seats 150, so get there early or buy your $30 tickets in advance here.
