Scottsdale's Pussycat Lounge, Crown Room Closing (Temporarily) For Renovation

We're deep into the dog days of summer, the college kids are all away on vacay, and nightlife-related business has slowed to a trickle.
Sounds like the perfect time for local club owners to shut down for a few weeks and update their digs with a fresh new look, which is exactly what's happening at a few joints in Old Town Scottsdale.
Pussycat Lounge will be closed for the next four weeks while its proprietors give the place a completely renovation and remodeling, including a completely different design. The bar will relocated to a new part of the space, as will the DJ booth moving to the center of the dance floor. When we spoke with some of PCL's employees they made jokes about how they've been tearing the place apart after closing up Sunday night. No word if they're going to keep the club's signature image of the woman in a cowboy hat flipping off the camera (we'll be willing to take if off your hands, yo).
A few blocks away, Indian Plaza establishment the Crown Room will also be transforming itself over the next week. Owner Troy Shane is planning on re-opening by next weekend and says there will be a slew of changes to the lounge, like 86'ing the frosted glass wall in front of the bar, which he says "blocks the flow" of people trying to get a drink.
