Flier of the Week: The Loveblisters' Last Show
Look, no one's sadder about this than we are, but it's time to face facts: The Loveblisters are breaking up, and this Saturday's show at Last Exit is the last time you'll ever see them. Ever. So try not to get too sad as you mourn the passing of the band which recorded the third best local album of the 2008, or put on the tenth best show of any size of 2008. Do what this flier designed by See Saw Designs in Scottsdale says and rock out with one of the best live local acts you'll ever see. Two of the best local live acts, actually, as Kinch is also on the bill.
It's gonna be a good night, even if it's the end of a wonderful era.

Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 9 2009 @ 2:34PMWho the hell are The Loveblisters? And if they're such an great band, why are they playing in a dump like Last Exit? Local music in Phoenix is a joke.
Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 9 2009 @ 2:41PMI refuse to believe this is their last show. I'm hoping they will pull a Cher and play reunion after reunion show. =)
And in regards to wtf, WTF to your comment. Do you live under a rock?! Many of AZ's finest have played Last Exit. Perhaps you should get out more...
Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 9 2009 @ 2:54PMYeah, AZ's finest. Lets take a look at the legendary bands that have come out of AZ shall we?
Gin Blossoms!
Phunk Junkeez!
Jimmy Eat World!
Yeah, the rock I live under is called, not listening to the crappy local bands in Arizona.
Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 9 2009 @ 3:06PMI remember seeing you guys. You suck, I'm glad you're breaking up. A bunch of scenester twats. Aren't you guys like 30 or something?
Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 9 2009 @ 3:31PMOne less indie shit The Shins/Modest Mouse/Any Other Indie Band posers is always a good thing.
Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 9 2009 @ 3:38PMOh the days of azpunk. More middle aged adults trying to live the glory days of their youth. How many bands had egos larger than their 'scene' could support?
Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 9 2009 @ 4:06PM10 years into the future...
Hey man I used to be in a band too!
Oh really where did you play your final show?
At a bar.
Wow you guys must have been really successful!
Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 9 2009 @ 4:12PMDo the Phunk Junkeez really qualify as "legendary?" If you don't like The Loveblisters something might be wrong with you...but then again, I'm just one of those 30 year old scenester twats who was in a punk band that had an ego bigger then our scene...so what do I really know.
Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 9 2009 @ 4:23PMDear AZ Punkers:
Please go back to your own web site.
Kthxbai.
Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 9 2009 @ 4:28PMThe Loveblisters rock, I will miss you guys. Those of you who have nothing nice to say are just a bunch of lonesome idiots.
Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 9 2009 @ 4:33PMHi. This is Rob from the Loveblisters. I don't normally chime in on message boards like this, but I wanted to take the opportunity to thank the New Times for their kindness to us over the years. Rest assured, certain members of the Loveblisters will continue to make music here in Phoenix with the utmost integrity, passion and conviction.
In response to the negative feedback, I can only say that I'm sorry. If we as a band were unable to entertain or engage you on an artistic level then that's on me. You deserve the best from Phoenix artists and I was unable to give that to you. I shall strive even harder towards excellence and virtuosity in my future endeavors. I would only hope that you yourselves are contributing more than negative feedback to the local music scene that is apparently so abysmal according to your standards. If not, then you're simply making it more divisive and disjointed than it already is. I do appreciate reading things like this though, because it is cause for growth through humility and through ascertaining others perceptions of my artistic output. Thank you for empowering me in such a way.
God bless,
-Rob

You guys want something to read to help with your growth as a musician?
Stop.
Stop making music.
It sucks.
If you all stop making music. Then the negative feedback in the world would stop. And everyone would be happy.
Good riddance.

Yes we are contributing to the 'scene'. IT'S THE INTERNET BRAH, RELAX.
Go have fun at your show.

Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 9 2009 @ 4:48PMOh man just got word that The Loveblisters will also be playing my grandmas garage sale the day of their HUGE LEGENDARY LAST EXIT SHOW!
Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 9 2009 @ 4:49PMGood riddance was a good band. He wasn't afraid of anything.
Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 9 2009 @ 4:51PMI'm wiping big crocodile tears from my cheeks as I read this. It's been a long, beautiful road for the blisters!
Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 9 2009 @ 4:52PMThanks for the criticism Balfour. It's evident that you've listened to our music thoroughly, otherwise you wouldn't be able to develop such strong opinions about it. I respect that, sincerely.
Allow me to return the favor from a grammatical standpoint. Your first sentence, "You guys want something to read to help with your growth as a musician?," should actually read "You guys want something to read to help with your growth as musicians?". Secondly, your final thought is a series of incomplete sentences. I'd recommend revising the sentence using commas.
Other than that, your posts are remarkably articulate and constructive. Thanks again!

Posted On: Thursday, Apr. 9 2009 @ 5:19PMBalfour,
I'm a big fan of the loveblisters and would love to see them at your grandma's garage sale. Can you send me the flier or address? I want to see their second to last exit.
Matt
The Loveblisters real reason for breaking up? Rob wants to become an english teacher and be head of the grammar police department.
Hey guess what dude with a soon to be dead shitty band? This is the internet. No one gives a fucking fuck about grammar around here.
Matt, I will have a flier made up with shitty loch ness monsters in a bit.
Posted On: Friday, Apr. 10 2009 @ 9:11AMHow can there be a Jesus if there is no Loveblisters? No I am just left with DC Talk. I hate life I am going to go cut.
Posted On: Friday, Apr. 10 2009 @ 11:25AMNo such thing as bad press, eh?
I'd wager that someone from the band was making arguments with themselves (or each other) to garner more attention. If not, well then, the internet is just a cruel, cruel, mistress.
Posted On: Friday, Apr. 10 2009 @ 11:31AMWow
I thought I just heard The Loveblisters on the radio, then I realized I didn't have my radio turned on, it was just the sound from my ass when I was taking a shit on the toilet.
Posted On: Friday, Apr. 10 2009 @ 11:31AMKnock Knock...
Who's there?
Medi...
Medi who?
Mediocrity, I am here to pick up The Loveblisters.
Posted On: Friday, Apr. 10 2009 @ 11:33AMThis band sucks, none of the members know how to play instruments properly. They're like a shitty version of The Monkees.
Posted On: Friday, Apr. 10 2009 @ 4:54PMOk. Let's keep in mind that The Loveblisters have won many competitions, local and national, so there are bound to be some bitter mofos out there. Just calm down fellas. It's your turn now.
I must add: saying that none of the members know how to play instruments properly is ridiculous. I understand if you don't like their musical style or impeccable fashion sense, but to say that they are bad musicians is just plain ignorant. You are a retard.
Rob's voice makes my heart warm.
Posted On: Friday, Apr. 10 2009 @ 9:23PMLiving with "loveblisters" can be a real hassle guys. Lordy, when you have a musical outbreak like the one tonight, it can feel as though it takes weeks out of your life. That is why I suggest all loveblister CDs and live shows come with a free script of VALTREX! JK. Good stuff Rob. Sorry to see you all bounce. Love the music and the blisters.
