The Killers: See you in September.

Local fans of The Killers have been waiting patiently for the band's upcoming gig at Dodge Theatre next month.

It's been almost two years since The Killers last performed in the Valley, and local fans of the blockbuster post-punk band have been waiting oh-so patiently for their chance to see Brandon Flowers and company live and in person.

And now it turns out they're gonna have wait even longer, as The Killers have postponed their upcoming show at Dodge Theatre until September 28 due to "unexpected circumstances." Tickets for the original concert, which was originally scheduled to take place on April 16, will be honored.

The news was announced over the weekend on the band's Web site (which was confirmed today by concert promoter Live Nation) and included a typically boilerplate apology by the band.

"The Killers would like to apologize to their fans in Phoenix and look forward to seeing them in the fall," the press release stated.

Some fans are understandably upset at the rescheduling, and voiced their discontent on The Killer's Web site.

One fan wrote: "This is not fair!! Why the hell are they postponing so many shows?? And why does it have to be this one?"

The band is still scheduled to perform a gig the following night in their hometown of Las Vegas, followed by headlining the second night of the Coachella Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California.
