The Hold Steady... opening for Dave?

Wait, what? The Hold Steady, beloved hipster bar band, sharing a stage with unrepentant frat-rock douches Dave Matthews Band? It's happening in St. Louis, reports our sister paper, Riverfront Times. It's too late to call Live Nation, and the listing for Dave at Cricket Wireless doesn't say anything about The Hold Steady, but we'll keep you posted.

Can you imagine if Hold Steady fans actually pay to see that show? The tension during the 8-minute version of "Jimi Thing" will be unbearable!

I'll gear this review to 2 types of people: current chair owners who are considering an upgrade, and people trying to decide between a chair and a recliner (There are other chairs worth considering out there, like the Scirocco, but I hope this gives you enough info to make an informed decision.
The members of Dave Matthews Band are enormously talented musicians and put on a fantastic performance. Who are you to suggest that they should be "repentant" because of their fan base? They're gracious, laid back people and I'm sure they're appreciative of anyone who enjoys their music, no matter what they're like. You obviously have no idea what you're talking about. I've never heard of this publication, but they obviously need to do a better job of hiring writers who don't substitute baseless, childish name calling for intelligent reporting.
The reviewers have all been raving about the new Dave Matthews Band concerts. He performed last week in his hometown of Charlottesville, VA. It’s a beautiful city and he brings a beautiful sound to it everytime. The performance itself.
Hold Steady is frat boy rock. DMB is executive rock.
Fans of the Dave Matthews Band may be crooked hat, puka shell wearing douches, but the people who make up DMB are far from it. I love DMB and i wish Jimi was only 8 minutes.

I agree with Chris, calling DMB douches is so far from the truth. You may not like their music but they're not douches. You may not like the stereotypical "frat boy" fan you think goes to see DMB, but that doesn't make them douches. Oh, and "Jimi Thing" will probably be closer to 18 minutes if they play it.
To call DMB douches shows your lack of intelect and taste in music. It is clear to anyone who has even a fraction of musical taste that DMB is so far from being "douches" its hardly worth commenting on. While I will admit the long instrumentals can be a bit much at times, their concerts are by far better than any other current act performing today. And, have been for a long, long time. Wake up and get some taste.
