Eddie Vedder Sings Karaoke in Mesa Hotel

Turns out I should go to my neighborhood hotel bars more often! Yes, that's Pearl Jam singer Eddie Vedder doing U2's "Where the Streets Have No Name" at the Best Western Dobson Ranch Inn in Mesa. Vedder was in town for the Chicago Cubs 2009 Fantasy Camp, according to Stereogum.

Two thoughts: First, Eddie Vedder is a really, really good karaoke singer. I go to rockaraoke at the Yucca Tap Room pretty frequently and I've never seen anyone rock it like that. Damn. Second, to all my friends in Tempe and Scottsdale who rag on southwest Mesa -- when's the last time Eddie Vedder sang at a hotel bar a mile from your house? D.O.B represent, baby!
