The Pretenders Coming To The Dodge
"The British Rock band The Pretenders with original founder Chrissie Hynde will make a stop in Phoenix to perform at Dodge Theatre on Wednesday, March 4. The tour is the band's first extensive headlining tour since 2003. The show will begin at 7:30pm. Tickets will go on-sale Monday, December 8 at 10am."
Or at least that's what the press release says. Maybe it's cuz I'm from Akron, Ohio, but I take great umbrege at labeling The Pretenders a "British Rock band" since Chrissie is from my hometown, with the four other stiffs hailing from across the pond. Whatev. The show is coming in March, so look for lots of Akro-centric coverage in advance of that. I'm actually working on getting my editors to fly me home so I can put together something like our sister paper, LA Weekly's, story on Devo in the motherland. We'll see how that goes.
Oh, and tickets go on sale Monday at 10 a.m. at the Dodge's box office. Reserved tickets are priced at $67.50, $47.50 and $37.50. --Martin Cizmar
