Green Day will perform in Phoenix on May 25 -- sort of

Tue May 13, 2008 at 06:56:45 PM

By Niki D'Andrea

If Pollstar is to be believed, the members of Green Day will be playing a show in Phoenix on Sunday, May 25, at the Brickhouse Theatre. Huge news, right? Well, the reason nobody heard about this huge news is because Billy Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tre Cool will be performing as a band called Foxboro Hot Tubs (the show is NOT listed on the Brickhouse Web site at this time, however).

Foxboro Hot Tubs, dubbed "Green Day's garage-rock alter-ego," has the Brickhouse show listed on their Web site. Tickets cost $20, and the band says they will only be available at the venue box office the day of the show.

The Foxboro Hot Tubs new album is way better than anything Green Day has put out in the past few years. I am stoked for this and will definitely be in attendance.
