Believe it or not, there are a handful of excellent indie record labels in the great state of Arizona, boasting rosters with some of our finest local artists and some hot underground national acts, as well. This week, we'd like to give a shout-out to Funzalo Records.

Funzalo Records (Tucson)

The Mother Truckers (Austin)
Tony Furtado (Portland, OR)

Mint (Belgium)

The Mother Truckers

Why they’re hot:

Tony Furtado’s albums have featured guest vocals from Allison Krauss and Jerry Douglas.

Mostly Bears and The Mother Truckers played multiple showcases at this year’s SxSW festival.

When visitors purchase anything from Funzalo’s online store, they’re entered in a monthly drawing for a free iPod.

The new Mostly Bears record is pretty good. I recommend it.

This band used to be good - but the "new" album is going to be old stuff that we've all heard at live shows for 2 years. They should move back to their parents houses in CA and get out of Austin since they are taking up space.
