If you've checked out the colorful kid-catered installation that is Camp Dreamtree, you know one thing about the Scottsdale Civic Center Library: their gallery is anything but by the book. And while the installation created by local artists Roy Wasson Valle and Koryn Woodward Wasson has done well to inspire the imagination indoors, Scottsdale Public Art (SPA), in partnership with Scottsdale Public Library, is looking for some new inspiration for next summer's installation.

Scottsdale Public Art has issued a request for proposals for the summer 2015 Scottsdale Civic Center Library Gallery installation, set to run Monday, June 15, through Monday, August 31.

Proposals should be interactive and entertaining, as well as educational and appropriate for all ages of library visitors. While interested artists should present ideas that are fresh and innovative, they are encouraged to take note of the current installation's full use of the 2,500-square-foot gallery and 24-foot ceilings.

In addition to the proposed 11-week installation, artists should also consider how the exhibition could incorporate community involvement by suggesting up to three free workshops that could be held in conjunction with the project. Workshop facilitators will be paid $100 for each two-hour workshop with all materials provided by SPA.

The budget for the summer 2015 installation includes labor, materials, transportation, shipping, equipment rental, and artist fees. Deadline for proposals is midnight Monday, September 8. The selected artist(s) will be notified by the SPA curatorial staff on Monday, October 6, of 2014 and given the days of Monday, June 1, through Sunday, June 14, to install their work in 2015.
