Mo' money, mo' problems. Lucky for you, there's plenty of free things to do this week. From architecture in an art museum to poetry in the park and cosmic happenings at a community college, here are our top three picks for complimentary events this week.

Architecture "Slide Slam"

Local architects will present their work at SMoCA's Architecture "Slide Slam" on the Stage 2 Theater of Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts Tuesday, April 1, at 7 p.m. This free event, presented with AIA Arizona in celebration of Modern Phoenix Week, will feature Valley architects including Wendell Burnette, AIA, Founder/Principal at Wendell Burnette Architects; Caroline Lobo, AIA, Principal at souLL Architects; Christina Noble, AIA, Founder at Contour Design Studio; and David Plotkin, AIA, Founder at DKP Architecture + Consulting. Light it Up! Poetry and Art in the Park

Phoenix Public Library will kick off its celebration of National Poetry Month with a free evening of open mic poetry hosted by local poet Divine at Margaret T. Hance Park. The poetry open mic will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m followed by video artwork by Sama Alshaibi, Chris Fraser, and David Politzer from 7:30 to 9. Metaphysical Expo

Stop by the Scottsdale Community College cafe between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 5, for the Metaphysical Expo. This holistic event will feature the works: psychics, palmists, tarot cards, mediums, past life, animal communicators, and aura readers, as well as massage therapy, reiki, crystals, metal works, and jewelry.
