Spa at Sanctuary

That aptly named Sanctuary, situated on Camelback Mountain has been a featured retreat on Forbes Travel Guide's list of "four-star award-winning spas" for four years running. The Asian-inspired retreat is perched above the city, secluded in thick bamboo, and features a reflecting pond and zen meditation garden. The Eastern-style services include tok sen vibration therapy ($230), reiki healing ($170), sabai foot massage ($170), and luk pra kope herbal massage ($295).

Joya Spa

The Joya Spa at the Montelucia Resort in Paradise Valley is a Hammam-inspired luxury spa featuring strong Moroccan influences combined with new age treatments and age old customs. The spa is named after the night-blooming cactus flower near its entrance and offers numerous services, including massages and facials, infused with its signature scent. At Joya spa you can get everything from your run-of-the-mill pampering to cupping ($190), IV therapy ($150), and hypnotherapy ($199).

Sorry, the Red Door at the shopping center? You should have driven a little further west to Litchfield Park to the Red Door at the Wigwam, my favorite spa. I've been to both and you missed the mark on this one. But once again, the West Valley is overlooked.
