Sometimes we get so caught up in how we'd like to change Phoenix that we forget how good we have it. Since we haven't yet been trampled by overeager shoppers during Black Friday or unable to squish into skinny jeans because pie, we're feeling pretty good. Thankful, even.

So we decided to compile a list of reasons why. And here they are: 25 reasons we're thankful to live in Phoenix right now. Because, come Saturday, we'll probably be the crankiest Sues this city's seen in a while.

25. Folks in other time zones have to deal with all that spring forward fall back baloney. Not us.

24. There's always a party going on, even on Thanksgiving.

23. Being landlocked, we're free of major natural disasters like earthquakes and hurricanes.

22. If/when California falls off the continent, we'll have prime ocean front property.

21. We have great neighborhoods.

There's ten reasons to live here, all of them the same, the Winter Weather!!!!!!!!!!

Hate hate hate the summer heat still, cannot get used to it at all and it lasts at least four months but looking forward to snow birding it someday. The politics and poor highways are two huge drawbacks plus no rain.  I didn't get the thing about neighborhoods with so many homes walled in and a Circle K at every corner?  When I think of real neighborhoods, I think of New York, Chicago, even San Diego and St Louis, not here.

1. I am not going to be stuck here much longer. 2. All of these racist 2 toothed, Neanderthal trailer  dwellers are here in one place instead of polluting other areas of the country. 3. at 81+ Arpaio can't last as Sheriff much longer. 4. Halloween is a blast because we live in the only State that has an actual witch for Governor.  5. when people start talking smack about how screwed up New York and California are, I immediately remind them of backwoods Ari-Klana-Zona and the shut up. 6. The Valley is a catch basin for idiots that wouldn't last 2 months in So-Cal (See Randy Parraz)  That is about all I see to be thankful for in this jacked up, backwoods, laughing stock of the nation, armpit of Hell. I now open the reply section up to the brainless Tea Baggers and confused and dazed Randy-Bots, That is all.

Major omission here, and should be #1 in my humble opinion: 365 flip-flops!!!

Reason # 1 is to be thankful for Sheriff Arpaio.

You mean... Pissed off idiots who think Joe Arpaio isn't a huge reason not to be thankful for living here. Saying: hope those people choked on their turkey.

@VictorH And your old grandpa won't live much longer due to his old age.  You better think again because Arpaio just might outlive you.  Have you listened to Arpaio's message at (602) 777-6632?

@VictorH Not sure where to start with the grammatical train-wreck you call a post, so I'll keep it short. Agree that this state has it issues (Sheriff Joe and nativist are a big one), as all do, but your ignorant rant adds nothing to the discussion in any form. I'm sure I speak for the rest of Arizonians when I say, get your carpetbagging ass back to Cali dickhole!

@petersonjulie @66rock   Um, I know julie so I just have added "hardly at all".  Over 300 days a year without it and get a few, usually all at once.

@MrDuke

Dear Duke of Ignorance. My "grammatical train wreck" is due in part to the fact that I am typing on a tablet in the direct sunlight and partly because I never worry about grammar or proper punctuation while typing things for rednecks and hillbillies to read. I am quite sure that your mouth has been stretched big enough to speak for all Arizonans, but I seriously doubt that you do. The childish rant that you just posted means the same thing to me that your existence probably means to everyone else, absolutely nothing. Perhaps you should consider spending more time in the library (providing you haven’t already been trespassed for lewd and lascivious conduct) and less time in online comment sections. Have a wonderful day.
