The Costco "Check-out" Lady
Oh, you've seen her at the Costco on 44th Street and Thomas, lifting 50 pounds of dog food like she's picking up a feather, when really all she wants to pick up is YOU. Her mannish good looks and uncanny spatial skills make you question your sexuality every time you buy bulk! When she asks, "Do you need help out to your car?" while holding your gaze a little too long, she means it!

If you post this another 4 times, yeah, I'll have seen it 10 times.

The thing I like most about this article is that it's not condescending. Not at all. Not in the least. It isn't.Seriously.

The woman I am seeking to be by my side will be intelligent, kind, open-minded, accept diversity, respectful of everyone and their opinions, and light-hearted with a great sense of humor. Reading most (not all) of these comments, makes me want to choose life-long celibacy.
Thank you, Tania, for writing an informative, humorous, and researched article for us 10+%, when we are so often excluded from the media unless it involves crime or politics.

If I were to classify myself amongst the 10 stereotypes of lady-lovers I would say I am either the barista-singer-songwriter-magician or the bisexual type who "likes" the grown-woman-who-dresses-like-a-13-year-old-boy type or the barista-singer-songwriter-magician type.

Sad that this author can't see all the smart, non-gender-bending sexy femmes out there. Oh wait, that's because they can't see past stereotype. I get that the author is trying to be drole...operative word-trying.

This article is extremely disappointing. The LGBTQ community gets stereotyped enough by bigots. We don't need it from within.

I thought it was pretty accurate. None of the lesbians above us do. We must be special.

As someone who typically likes reading the new times, I feel that this article is very antagonistic and pointless. Instead of writing this piece, why not write about exploring sexuality with an open mind regardless of gender identification? I spent a good part of my teens/early 20s exploring and dating people that I was into, whether male or female. I think more people should keep and open mind and not be labeled.

This is disgusting. An exercise in frivolous name-dropping, stereotyping, homonormativity, and a poor understanding of (and lack of wanting to understand) non-binary individuals. Dating someone who does not identify with a binary gender is NOT dating a "lady."  Using the fact that you are a writer to poke fun and bully us is NOT okay.

Shaming women for not being "100% lesbian" is disgraceful. Sexuality and gender are both fluid, and both can take decades of exploration and processing to fully identify and discover. There is zero shame in that.

To the author: let me know if you want to learn more about non-binary identities, so you can avoid being so disrespectful and hurtful in the future.

This sounds like a list of ex's made by a bitter woman who was dumped repeatedly. Get over it. It's totally disrespectful.

Is it just me, or does it seem like the majority of PNT articles are hateful....?

If this is your idea of humor please keep your day job at Costco. You act as though it's ok to talk down on lesbian or bisexual 'ladies' based on the fact that you are one. Pfft yeah fucking right. Get a grip and a sense of reality.

@kandyc86 This "bitter woman" is married to an amazing woman and is an amazing and intelligent scholar. Check your facts.
