Hurricane Bay in North Phoenix.
West Valley clubgoers now have one less place where they can get their drink and dance on, as Hurricane Bay Nightclub apparently is no longer in business. And we use the word "apparently" because for all intents and purposes, it appears that the North Phoenix nightspot shuttered within the past few weeks.

Although no announcement was made and the exact date of its closure is unknown, Hurricane Bay's shows all the hallmarks of a D.O.A. establishment. Not only has its website been disabled, but the joint's phone number has been disconnected and its Facebook page has also disappeared.

The last update that was made to the club's Twitter account, which is still around, is a tweet from October 8, indicating that it had temporarily stopped operating on Fridays.

Looks as though it's now more of a permanent situation and not just on Friday nights.

Club had the huge advantage of being on the west side with no real competition and then also had the huge advantage of being one of the FEW clubs in the entire Phoenix area that actually had a REAL CLUB size compared to the lobby room sized clubs that fill this huge city for whatever strange reason (I'm use to good size clubs with space).

Somehow with that they managed to ruin it as they managed the place right into the ground, didn't know what direction to go, etc. Who in the world draws a good size on a freaking Wednesday but throws away their weekend by having "Latin Night" on Fridays (that constantly failed to draw a crowd) and constant change ups on Saturdays.

One second they were allowing to thuggish crowd to come in, then it seem like they got it in control for their Hip Hop night, then they started to slip again.  Pretty much mismanagement through and through.  Now there seems to be nowhere to go for a city as large as Phoenix.

If anyone reopened this building as a different club, keep it hip hop and this won't happen.

DJs were terrible and the feel and vibe of the club had no direction. Back yard boogies are more fun.
