Today it seems like people's attention spans have shrunk, thanks to the ever-increasing amounts of digital media. The Theatre Artists Studio will look to appeal to the ADD in all of us with its fifth annual festival of 10-minute plays.
The Scottsdale studio's members will present eight of these original shorts on Thursdays through Sundays from Thursday, June 13, through Sunday, June 23.
The Theatre Artists Studio is a non-profit member organization that consists of actors, directors and playwrights and seeks to provide its members with an environment to hone their theatrical skills.
The playwrights include, Debra Rich Gettleman, Joe Bardin, Allen Austin, Bob Barr, Hal Corley, Mare Biddle, and David Middleman.
Gettleman, who is also directing and acting, says, "The festival showcases many local writers and these shorts are taken from the page to the stage for the first time, which will make for a great experience."
Showtimes are 7:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, and 2 p.m. on Sunday.
General admission tickets start $20. Discounts are available for military members, seniors, and anyone younger than 25. Tickets are available online via www.thestudiophx.org. or by calling 602-765-0120.
