It's a big weekend for Frances.

The local boutique celebrates seven years in the Medlock Plaza on Central and Camelback. And while its surroundings have changed quite a bit since the shop opened its doors, the amount of drool-worthy apparel, home goods, gifts, and accessories has always kept us coming back.

To celebrate its anniversary, the boutique is throwing a weekend-long party with trunk shows, limited-edition artwork, and food trucks.

The local boutique hosts a celebration every summer -- two years ago, the shop opened Frances Studio in the Medlock Plaza (which has since closed), and last year Frances announced it would be opening a second location at the Biltmore.

Frances owner Georganne Bryant says this weekend will focus on what's at the "heart of Frances," which is also the theme of the boutique's printed style guide that will be released and up for grabs this weekend ($8 a copy).

On Friday from 6 to 9 p.m., Shine, Merry May, Josie Ciricione, and Lotus Blossom will be selling their vintage and handmade goods to the tune of live music by Parker Morden and food from Short Leash and Mamma Toledo's.

On Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Shine, Subtle Takeover, Handmade Riot, and Alex Ozers will be selling handmade furniture, toys, and artwork with live music by Henry Rivera and food from Pizza People, Island Loco, Mr. Softee, and Katie's Cupcakes.

And on Sunday from noon to 5 p.m., Shine and Keri Mosier will be selling goods with food from Paradise Melts, Satay Hut, and AZ Pops.

Throughout the weekend, attendees are encouraged to participate in raffles and scoop up giveaways including Frances tote bags and accessories. For more information, check out the Frances blog.

Fun! I hope something soon fills the space that used to be occupied by Smeeks.
