Art walks are more often about people-watching and shenanigans and less about the actual art. Luckily, we captured a little bit of both. April's First Friday welcomed art openings along Roosevelt Row, Grand Avenue, and 16th Street. Here were just a few of our favorites . . .
PHXAM Contest Brings Skateboarders to Phoenix (4/7/13)
Skateboarders from across the world rode into the Desert West Skateboard Plaza in Phoenix this weekend for PHXAM, a skateboarding contest sponsored by Phoenix's Cowtown and Vans. Skate competitors braving the heat flipped, grinded, and trashed through the course.
Phoenix Pride Festival 2013
The annual Phoenix Pride Festival returned to Steele Indian School park April 6-7 for a celebration of the LGBTQ community. Festivities included live music, the Miss and Mister Gay Pride Pageant, performances by drag queens, sensual demonstrations in the Erotic World tent, and much more.
