We're fairly sure that kitschy, cult filmmaker John Waters would agree that your Kris Kringle and his holly-jolly whatnot need a kick in the oversize rear. Ditch 'em in favor of such Waters-approved holiday activities as giving and receiving pervy presents, engaging in unabashed worship of Santa, and delighting in X-mas tales of horror.
Unsure of where to begin? Take in the Pope of Trash's one-man show, A John Waters Christmas, for his gleeful guidance in making the holidays weirdly wonderful at Scottsdale Center for the Performing Arts on Saturday at 8 p.m. Tickets are $39 to $69.
Phoenix Fridas Holiday Trunk Show & Fiesta @ MADE art boutique
The city's resident crew of Kahlo-inspired creatives will bring their crafty wares like ornaments, mugs, and candles to MADE on Saturday from noon to 4 p.m. Expect live entertainment, free ornaments for the first 25 people to show up, and some sweet treats, too. Admission is free.
