Looking for ways to fill up your weekend? Here are your five best bets for getting out and about in the Valley of the Sun.

Neil Hamburger & Tim Heidecker @ Crescent Ballroom
We cannot properly explain why Neil Hamburger, the comedian alter ego of Greg Turkington, and Tim Heidecker, one half of the gonzo duo Tim and Eric, are funny. It's a combination of playing to a pop culture-saturated society, checking normal at the door, and miring yourself in discomfort.

Turkington's Hamburger is a grouchy drunk with a comb-over who deals in Paris Hilton and Kardashian gags. Of late, Heidecker has performed as a green comedian who poorly delivers jokes about Pepsi people. If that sounds like a good time to you (it does to us, but our comedic instincts have always skewed bizarre), head to Crescent Ballroom on Friday for the pair's 7 p.m. show. Tickets are $16.

A Very Merry Sci-Fi Christmas Show @ Phoenix Art Museum
Armed with the infamous Star Wars Holiday Special, the folks behind Dr. Diabolic and Nerd Nite will host an evening of pop culture-infused cheer at Phoenix Art Museum on Friday at 7 p.m.

A Darth Santa photo booth and a presentation from self-proclaimed Star Wars aficionado Dustin Diehl round out the evening. Admission is $5.

Tempe Starving Artist Zine Release Party @ Long Wong's
The latest edition of Robbie Pfeffer's zine Tempe Starving Artist gets the release party treatment at Long Wong's on Saturday. Snag a copy of the new issue and catch some live art and performance starting at 8 p.m. Admission is free. The event is all-ages-friendly until 10, after which its for the 21-plus crowd.
