Maybe its just us, but the burly, bearded, and big-hearted Sean Watson kinda resembles Yukon Cornelius, the gruff arctic prospector from Rankin/Bass' renowned 1964 stop-motion holiday special Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer. So it seems sorta appropriate that the local DJ will host the "Island of the Misfit Toys X-mas Lux Pow Wow" on Christmas night at the CenPho coffee bar. Fellow DJs Benni Beatnik, Deux Yeux, and Jared Alan will also be in the mix during the event, which also feature both special drinks, free high fives, and "kung fu dance moves." The Pow Wow begins at 9 p.m. Admission is free.

"We will be open and partying," declares the Facebook event page for Smashboxx's Christmas Night celebration for service industry professionals (or anyone else that wants to party on X-Mas) that will take place Tuesday evening. DJ Jon Amaral is scheduled to perform and will drop plenty of Top 40 and electronic dance music hits. Doors open at 9 p.m. Admission is free.
