If Downtown Mesa looks like a time warp during its Second Friday art walk, don't worry. You haven't really traveled to the early 1900s. From 6 to 10 p.m. on Friday, folks will dress in their steampunk finest, complete with imaginative gizmos, three-piece suits, and Victorian dresses, for Steampunk Street V, an annual street party celebrating steam-powered sci-fi. Whether you're there to dress up or people-watch, there will be plenty to do and see, including a costume contest, arts and crafts, and gallery shows. Admission is free.
