Courtney McEntire wears many hats -- figuratively and literally.

Apart from her headwear endeavors, she writes a fashion blog, Phoenix is Haute, works as associate director of Scottsdale's Madewell store, co-runs Phoenix Style Collective, and serves as a board member for FIDM's Arizona Alumni Chapter.
For this What Are You Wearing? installment, we met with the bubbly brunette over a couple cups of caffeine at Giant Coffee to talk fashion. Here's what we learned about how and why she wears what she wears.
What are you wearing right now?
Ugglebo clogs, Madewell jeans and necklace, a turquoise ring from GrowOp, and an Anthropologie button-up.
What is the last item of clothing you bought?
I bought some hankies from an antique store in Tucson. One has an It's a Small World kind of print, with kids doing different activities, another is lacy, and one is floral.
Where do you usually shop?
Lately at Madewell or thrift stores or Amazon. I love a Goodwill, but my current favorite place for thrifting is Hospice of the Valley's shop.
Fashion trend you can't stand?
Bedazzled anything. Your jeans, T-shirt, and hat -- it all doesn't need rhinestones on it.
Give us a childhood memory of you and clothes ...
I loved these red, glittery Dorothy shoes my grandma got for me at, like, K-Mart. I'd wear them with my spinning dress and twirl around. I'd announce, "I've got my spinning dress and my good K-Mart shoes!" My mom was horrified [laughs]. I must've been four or five.
Name five items every woman should have in her closet:
1. A dress you could wear to any last-minute special event
2. One set of matching underwear you feel awesome in
3. A statement necklace
4. A pencil skirt
5. Some sort of ridiculous shoes
What is your one piece of fashion advice for Phoenix?
I'm such a layering person. Pile it on until it makes sense. Do light layers in summer and don't be afraid to dress up.
