Five Favorite Wes Anderson Movie Moments

Categories: Top Lists

With just a few days between us and the newest Wes Andersen movie, Moonrise Kingdom, we're itching for a fresh dose of the director's signature dry humor and cinematography.

Moonrise Kingdom is set to hit theaters (in limited release because if everyone was able to see it, it wouldn't be nearly as cool) on May 25. It will be the indie director's first non-animated feature since Darjeeling Limited in 2007, and has already made quite an impression at the 75th annual Cannes Film Festival and promises a hearty serving of Anderson cast regulars and quirky directing style.

But if (for some sad reason) you've never seen any of Anderson's previous films, we're going to help you out by offering our Five Favorite Wes Anderson Moments ...

5. From The Royal Tenenbaums: Margot Tenenbaum

Set to Judy Is a Punk by The Ramones, this scene from Anderson's 2001 The Royal Tenenbaums showcases the development of one of Anderson's most memorable characters: Margot Tenenbaum.

Infamously secretive and a closet smoker, Margot spends indefinite amounts of time lethargically moping in her bathtub and watching the TV set she has tied to her radiator. She habitually cheats on her husband, played by Bill Murray, and is in love with her brother (related through adoption).
