Five Must-See Movies in April (NSFW)

Sometimes a movie screens for one night only, and sometimes it shows for weeks -- months even. That's why when it comes to catching an independent or limited-release film at a local theater, planning ahead is crucial.

Planners that we are, we've selected five must-see flicks screening in the Valley this month. Stock up on your preferred salty, sweet snacks and check out our picks ...

5. Tim and Eric's Billion Dollar Movie
Much like Tim Heidecker and Eric Wareheim's anarchic, absurdist Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! on Adult Swim, their feature film is not for everyone. And perhaps that's one of the greatest understatements in the history of the universe.

We watched Billion Dollar Movie last weekend, and, even though we are undoubted mega-fans, found ourselves screaming, "Ahhh! Noo! Ewww." But, such is the brand of humor Tim and Eric have cultivated. It's gross. It's disturbing. And we cannot stop watching and laughing.

See the unbelievably NSFW red band trailer after the jump.

B$M opens at Harkins Valley Art on Friday, April 6. Probably leave your mother at home.

4. Over Your Cities Grass Will Grow
Director Sophie Fiennes paints a cinematic picture of German artist Anselm Kiefer, his elaborate installation work, paintings, and creative process in this visually striking documentary.

See it at SMoCA Lounge on Thursday, April 12, at 7:30 p.m. Admission is $7. See details here.
