Last month, ASU hosted Emerge, a three-day, campus-wide event in which innovators in all fields of art and science collaborated efforts to redefine what it means to be human in an age shaped by technology.

And whether or not you attended the workshops, performances, and Digital Culture Festival, you can still participate in the interactive exhibition, Emerge: Redesigning the Future, now open at the ASU Art Museum.

The Emerge exhibition, which is open to the public from April 10 to August 25, gives visitors the opportunity to experience the brainchildren of the engineers, artists, scientists, and storytellers that participated in the Emerge conference.

Many of the installations, or rather 'the imagined futures', at the exhibit incorporate hands-on interaction (molding clay, narrating stories, scavenging for symbols, and so on). It's all a part of design fiction, a movement deeply rooted in the ASU Emerge exhibition:

"Design Fiction is the craft of triggering the imagination to evoke potential futures...[It] is about creating things that trip up our everyday thought processes, generating creative ideas about the kind of future we want." - Emerge: Redesigning the Future

Admission to Emerge is free and you can contact the ASU Art Museum for a list of scheduled tours to give you further insight into the exhibit.

A free opening reception sponsored by the ASU Global Institute of Sustainability, will be held April 17 from 5 to 8 p.m.. It will be the perfect opportunity to meet and greet with the creators, ask questions, and most importantly, get involved with the project -- it is your future too, after all.
