Spotted: Quick PHX, Our Pocket Guide to Downtown Phoenix

Categories: Visual Art
If you're headed out for a few shows, or if you're just looking for some pretty cool things to buy/see/eat/drink in downtown Phoenix we've got you covered.

Introducing Quick PHX

You'll spot our paper guide on newsstands, counter tops, and coffee tables starting today and if you're lucky, throughout the year, as the info packed into our hand-held guide is enough to keep you busy for quite a while. Included are profiles of local artists, guides to Downtown galleries and museums, shopping spotlights, dish recommendations, and a few rundowns on the night scene

Of course, it all doesn't fit in the book. Check out our letterpress video with Nancy Hill of Gallery Hazel, and behind the scenes photos after the jump ...

"another way to help energize the Legends Entertainment District" by Rattlers owner Ron Shurts. The banner and large screens have been noted as a "great way to bring people Downtown," and "bling" for downtown buildings by local media.
Great. More fucking crap hoisted on us because "downtown is fun."
No, it's not. It sucks. There's an automatic rape of $10 for parking. That's before you get out of your car. Then you have the pleasure of homeless and gangbangers and street people hassling you, your girlfriend, and your wallet.
It's a legendary entertainment district all right. I hate downtown. It blows. I went to Hanny's a few times, and then stopped going, for all the above reasons.
Like food trucks (God help us all), downtown Phoenix is something New Times loves to death - for whatever reason - that the rest of us fucking hate.
