A massive horde of participants gathered outside of the Arizona Science Center, equipped themselves with boomboxes, and transformed into a 500-headed beast that slowly danced its way through downtown.

Streets and sidewalks became an impromptu dance floor as participants (who were clad in business suits and other costumes) shook a tail feather, busted some major grooves, and clowned around, all while lit by the flashing emergency lights of the Phoenix Police Department cruisers hired by organizers as escorts.
The crowd invaded the Hooters at the Arizona Center (causing confused looks from waitresses and patrons), danced outside the Phoenix Convention Center and Chase Bank Tower, and eventually wound up at Civic Space Park.
Participants were having a major blast all evening, and even the cops seemed amused by the chaos and crazy dancing, only stepping in when the crowd lingered too long outside ASU's Taylor Place and received complaints (the visit occurred during the condominiums "quiet time.")
That didn't stop a few Sun Devil students from peeping the action from their windows or leaving their dorms and joining in on the fun. It definitely beat studying, at any rate. And if you weren't fortunate enough to make it out to the event, Lachance and Kuzma told the crowd they'd bring the DDP back to Phoenix sometime soon.
