The unquestionable U.K. connection.
The Bar: The British bar boasts a bounty of more than 50 local and import brews. Twelve of which are on a rotating tap and are part of the Industry Night $3 draft special. The converted house also offers up $2 wells and $4 Pinnacle Vodka drinks. The bar also features an ever-changing $.25 special on wells and drafts for those whose last name begins with a specific letter, It was F for our visit.

The Pool: Possibly even better than the beverage bargains is the free billiard special. This was the clear center of attention, the multiple-roomed bar was pretty barren everywhere other than in the pool room.

The Style: A notch or two above casual.

The People: Young, almost so young you start to wonder whether or not you're actually at a bar.

The Art: U.K.-themed creations depicting everyone from James Bond to Benny Hill by local artist Alexander Scott Hughes. St. Mary's Catholic High School also takes up more than it's fair share of wall space at Rose & Crown, which doesn't help with the whole young thing.

What we loved: The British bit. It was a change of pace to spend an evening in a pub that wasn't Irish. Although, they did still have Smithwick's on tap.

What we didn't love: First-timers be warned, driving straight to the bar requires turning around and making your way to a not quite close enough parking garage or street spot.

Are we going back? We could see this being an age of industry.
