Yes, it's that time of year when the racks of Halloween costumes and walls of candy displays overwhelm the holiday aisles in any (and every) given mini-mart and big-box store.
Those cheap decorations and super-tempting sweets might seem like easy options for celebrating (or pre-gaming for) the wicked, but we suggest you take note of the cuter and classier options abound at downtown Phoenix's Sweet Salvage.
The home decor shop kicks off its "Harvest Moon
"-themed sale today with kitsch-lite pumpkins, mad scientists, and plenty of owls in addition to their vintage staples. Prices range from $10 knick-knacks to $40 pillows and larger pieces in the lower hundreds.Get an early look at the wares after the jump.
Every third Thursday, the store opens its doors with a themed collection
of reclaimed, revamped furniture pieces, reupholstered gems, and
one-of-a-kind home accessories that the owners track down at flea markets in Arizona and California.
The following Sunday, the owners shutter
the space on Seventh Avenue in the Melrose District
, clear it out, and fill it with new items for the next month's sale.
Sweet Salvage is located at 4809 North 7th Avenue, just south of Camelback Road. Their hours are Thursday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., and Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Click here
